7/5/2023 0 Comments Portal and portal 2 bundle![]() You didn't just mindlessly go through the motions, but you rarely failed once you figured out what you were doing) I thoroughly enjoyed the puzzles, they weren't so complex as to require any kind of 3rd party assistance, and the difficulty of actually performing the actions felt natural (I don't quite know how to word it, but basically once you figured out what specific actions you wanted to do, you could perform them relatively easily, but still feel like it was your own skill that was the determining factor. I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO SPOILERS When you really look at it, it's a rather dark concept, with all the testing and how lowly human life seems to be valued, but the humor keeps things feeling light as you play it END mild SPOILERS The humor was fun, it wasn't trying to make you bust-a-gut laughing, but it set an interesting tone as the overall context changed. The portal concept seemed fucking-mind-blowing to me at the time, I'd never seen anything remotely like it before. ![]() ![]() I played it through in a single sitting - approx 4-5 hours I think from memory. Portal wasn't even really on my radar at that point, it was just the "free bonus game" on a pack with 4 other "proper" games.įor a buck, just think of it the same way - it's just a cheap time-waster, if you like it, sweet, if not, you're only down a buck.įrom the second I started portal I was hooked. I got it as part of the orange box on PS3, so it was my first chance to really play the Half Life Series. For me, the original portal is pretty much my ideal of a perfect gaming experience.
